My Silly Headcanons

These are just silly headcanons I have for these characters. Not all of them have any basis in canon. It's just fanon from the heart sometimes.


Layle : FFCCCB

  • He's half Clavat and half Selkie.
  • Grew up as an orphan in Rivelgauge Monastery, spent several years being 'mentored' by Blaze, and ended up in the Selkie Guild's care in his late teen to early adult years.
  • Met Keiss while doing work for Vaigali and met Cid through Keiss.
  • Severe food insecurities coupled with food in general being his way of expressing affection. He really likes sun dried fruit because it keeps well.
  • Can hold his liquor very well and prefers mixed drinks to mask the taste of alcohol.
  • The machine gun on Keiss' acoote is barely mounted because he keeps ripping the damn thing off instead of using the turret as it's intended to be used.
  • Layle had been abandoned at Rivelgauge Monastery because his parents couldn't handle a baby that could lift a full caravan into the air when they cried. He's not bitter about it at all but has no desire to reconnect with them.
  • His guild tattoo is half a wagon wheel and half of a helm. The placement is on his shoulder.
  • His early career as a mercenary was embarrassing because he had acquired plenty of knowledge but not a lot of experience.


Keiss : FFCCCB

  • He is a quarter Clavat because his dad (Vaigali) is half Clavat.
  • He's technically a 'son-of-a-gun' because Vaigali had been roughly 17 when Keiss had been born and neither parents wanted to admit it (the whole crew aboard the Izmayel already knew).
  • When the Izmayel had been seaworthy, Keiss had been in training to be the next navigator. The wreck of the Izmayel still bothers him and he avoids sea ships like the plague. Especially at night.
  • Met Cid through contract work and they're both aircraft enthusiasts.
  • His canteen always has water with a little rum mixed in 'to keep the water fresh'. Keiss refuses to hear that it's not necessary since he's not at sea anymore.
  • His acoote was won in a bet with a Lilty officer. It's an ancient model but has been refitted with a stable prototype crystal reactor made by Cid. It's must faster and easier to maneuver than the newer armored models.
  • Pride has a price tag and Vaigali hates that his son is willing to do odd jobs and mercenary work for the Lilty Kingdom despite their history with Selkies in general.
  • His guild tattoo is a zu wrapped around a cannon. It's on his chest and heavily surrounded with various other marks of achievement. The arm on the same side has a map with a route from Costa Faguita to Leuda.
  • Being a mercenary suited him and he picked up on the skills he'd need very quickly.


Belle : FFCCCB

  • She is a Selkie born on mainland and later joined the Selkie Guild.
  • Her mother and her grew up in a poor Clavat town as an extra set of hands before it had been abandoned due to a miasma brutal stream incident.
  • Her mother is still alive and well, but Belle doesn't visit very often since she's always working towards the next payout.
  • Met Keiss through Vaigali on accident. He put a bounty on Keiss' head for information about his location and Belle is the one who found him.
  • Belle likes it when she can't taste her alcohol at all and doesn't like to get any more than tipsy from time to time.
  • Her camera is old but reliable. Belle works hard to take care of it and replace pieces as needed even if a newer camera might be cheaper.
  • Like Keiss, she's willing to work with the Lilty. Unlike him, Belle has more bargaining chips to use against Vaigali when he complains about it.
  • Her guild tattoo is a variety of flowers in bloom located on her ribcage. Most of her marks of achievement are in regards to her skills in tracking and evading.
  • The only reason Belle is technically a mercenary is because she's willing to go places with a camera than most people wouldn't go to fully armed.
