"Yangire/Yandere is offensive."
- It can be but it also doesn't have to be. I'm not really trying to pull a 'haha crazy unpredictable scary guy go brrrrrr' or 'socially acceptable brooding uwu armchair sociopath' here. He's just a guy who happens to fit into one of my favorite tropes (when executed well).
"You should use [INSERT TROPE] instead of yangire / yandere!"
- No because I've yet to run into one that wasn't more offensive. The yangire page on tropes is literally CuTe AnD pSyChO and by calling it yangire / yandere you get the idea that it's a ridiculous trope built around obsessive and unhinged behaviors taken to a comical extreme.
"Did you have to make him so creepy/unsettling?"
- Yeah. He kills people in this AU. The difference between him in canon and this AU is literally murder which, if I followed through with his original character arc, would have escalated into cannibalism. The creepy is intentional. You're technically food to him.
"I have a genuine complaint about how something is actually offensive / stigmatizing!"
